Upcoming CFPACS Meetings
Society meetings are planned for September 25th in Orlando (Dave Witt's garden, Nehrling Estate) and Decmber 4th on Sarasota. Details on both of these meetings coming soon.

If you would like for your garden to be included as a stop for a 2011 CFPACS meeting, please contact the CFPACS vice president for your region: John Green (East), Ron Hart (Central) or Mike Evans (West).

CFPACS 2011 HomeTown Grant
Preliminary proposal deadline: December 31, 2010
Final proposal deadline: February 15, 2011
Grant awarded:March 2011
Funds available for planting: Spring 2011
The 2011 CFPACS HomeTown Grant is here! CFPACS members are encouraged to look around their communities and notice some public places that are in dire need of palms and cycads. All members are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to members and locations that have not previously been awarded a grant.

  • Palm Beach Palm & Cycad Society Annual Picnic and Auction, Lk. Worth
    When:
    Saturday, September 4 9am - ???
    CFPACS members are invited to join fellow palm and cycad enthusiasts for the annual PBP&CS picnic at Ruth Sallenbach's garden. Please bring a covered dish for the luncheon and plant donations (palms, cycads, vines, shrubs, trees, bromeliads, aroids, ground covers, etc.) for the auction. Also, please bring a chair for your comfort. Water and soda will be provided. Ruth's garden is spectacular, well worth the visit if you have never been.

  • Volunteer Event at The Albin Polasek Museum Garden
    When:
    Saturday, September 4 from 9 am to noon
    Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Garden, 633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789-4429
    Come help garden guru and CFPACS member Randall Knight and others for a work day at the Polasek Museum Garden. This is a great opportunity to make a contribution to a one of our public gardens and to meet others with similar interests. CFPACS gave the Polasek a grant in 2009 to establish a cycad collection.   • Rob Branch's Labor Day Open House, Sarasota
    When:
    Monday, September 6 8am - 3pm
    Rob's yearly event will have palms, bromeliads, gingers, heliconias, begonias, flowering bushes, vines, many varieties of tropical plants and more for sale. Come and enjoy the garden!
